Socorro Villagran, 90, of Brawley, CA passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 of natural causes.

Socorro was born on April 20, 1927 in Brawley, CA. She married Frank C. Villagran on November 4, 1944 in Fresno, CA. She was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, spending time with family and friends especially her grandchildren, and the many road trip adventures spent with her husband.

Socorro was preceded in death by her husband, Frank C. Villagran; granddaughter, Geraldine Villagran; parents, Ascencion and Maria de la (Luz) Espitia; brothers, Robert, Lino and Amador Espitia; sisters, Flora Espitia, Clara Padilla and Helen Castillo.

She is survived by her children, Joe Villagran of Bakersfield, Margaret (Albert) Camillo of Brawley, Frank Villagran Jr. of Brawley, Irene (Tino) Flores of Brawley, David (Gloria) Villagran of Brawley, Eva Villagran of El Centro; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, 5 great-greatgrandchildren; siblings, Paul (Linda) Espitia of Delano, Richard (Lucinda) Espitia of Delano, Charles (Eva) Espitia of Delano, Estela Espitia of Delano, Steve Espitia of Wasco; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley at 6 to 9 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at St. Margaret Mary Church in Brawley at 9 a.m. and will be officiated by Father Manuel Gutierrez. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.
