RAYMUNDO P. CASTANEDA

“Tati” Palomino Castaneda, was born October 25, 1947 in Brawley, CA to Gilberto and Elpidia Castaneda. He was the fourth of nine children. He had a twin, Edmundo, whom passed away in 2009. He attended local schools and graduated from Brawley Union High School in 1967. After graduation, Tati joined the workforce. He worked for several local companies before settling his career with Peterson/Delaware as a truck driver for a rendering company in Brawley, which later transferre­d to Darling Internatio­nal in Los Angeles where he worked for 23 years until his retirement.

He found his true love, Maria Luisa C. Castaneda. They were married on July 6, 1974. God blessed them with three beautiful boys, Ray Jr., Gilbert, and Jaime. “Tati” enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. He enjoyed casino trips with his honey. More recently, found a passion for college football due to a local Imperial Tiger alum and spending time with nephew turned honorary son David Palomino. Anyone who knew “Tati” would say that he was a very kindhearte­d, friendly, talkative and caring person. He made everyone feel loved and welcomed.

“Tati” entered into rest on November 17, 2017. He will be missed by his family and those who knew him dearly. Until we meet again.

“Tati” was preceded in death by his father Gilberto R. Castaneda; mother, Elpidia P. Castaneda; siblings, Eddie Castaneda, Emma Castaneda Maria Dolores Castaneda, Marina Castaneda; and twin brother Edmundo “Fifi” Castaneda.

Raymundo is survived by wife, Maria Luisa C. Castaneda of Brawley, CA; sons, Raymundo C. Castaneda Jr. of Brawley, CA, Gilberto L. Castaneda of Brawley, CA, Jaime F. Castaneda of Brawley, CA, David Palomino; brothers, Gilberto P. Castaneda Jr., Mario P. Castaneda and Ruben P. Castaneda; and sister, Mary Ellen Castaneda.

Visitation will be held Thursday November 30, 2017 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Brawley Rosary will be held on Thursday November 30, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Frye Chapel & Mortuary. Mass will be held Friday, December 1, 2017 at 9 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church in Brawley. Burial will be held following Mass.

PERFIDIA GRACE SANCHEZ

July 30, 1962 - Nov. 10, 2017

Perfidia Sanchez, 55, of Westmorlan­d passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017.

She was born July 30, 1962 in Salinas, CA.

Perfidia is survived by her brothers, Ernesto Sanchez of Oxnard, Abel Sanchez of Santa Rosa, Jose del Carmen Sanchez of Santa Barbara, and Carlos Sanchez of Santa Barbara; sisters, Teresa Sanchez of Salinas, Lillian Sanchez of Brawley, Susan Sanchez Gonzalez of Marina, and her twin sister, Cecilia Faith Sanchez of Westmorlan­d.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 1, 2017 at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley from 6 to 9 p.m. With Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Our Lady Guadalupe Church in El Centro at 10:30 a.m. and will be officiated By Father Romeo Velos. Burial will be held at Riverview Cemetery following Mass.

HELEN NOGALES

July 13, 1934 - Nov. 9, 2017

Helen Nogales, 83, of Holtville passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017.

She was born July 13, 1934 in Culiacan, Sinaloa and later married Frank Nogales in November of 1953 in Yuma, AZ. Helen was a beloved mother, grandmothe­r and great- grandmothe­r.

Helen was preceded in death by her mother, Theresa Soto in 2001 and husband Frank Nogales in 1978.

She is survived by her son, Frankie Nogales; daughters, Arlene (Brian) Van Bebber and Debra (Richard) Baro; grandchild­ren, Richie Audrey and Brayden Baro, Chelsea Van Bebber; great-grandson, Jonah Van Bebber; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 6 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro with rosary at 7 p.m. Mass will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Holtville and will be officiated by Father Jose Alfredo Moreno. Burial will immediatel­y follow at Terrace Park in Holtville.
