Plenty at Twenty

-

We collected 490 turkeys that were donated to a dozen charities around the Imperial Valley. We had about 90 sign-ups and 70 motorcycles.

The 20th annual ABATE 38 Turkey Run exceeded my expectation. I guess we need to add more charities. I want to thank our host Wal-Mart Supercenter in El Centro. Besides letting us have our event there, they also donated about 32 turkeys. Then for the second year in a row Ormat Geothermal donated $500 to buy turkeys.

Also through fundraisers, T-shirts sponsorships and donations, our local bought $2,000 worth of turkeys which was about 207 more turkeys.

To load and transport all those birds, El Centro Motors donated the use of two Super Duty Ford F-250 trucks.

I want to thank Raul and Kenny for stepping in and driving them. A special thanks goes out to everyone who volunteered, donated or attended this event.

Because without any of you this would not be possible. Next, is a list of sponsors that helped make this possible:
