JOSE MANUEL TORRES

Jose Manuel Torres, 59, of Imperial, passed away in his home on Thursday, December 21, 2017. Born in Durango, Mexico, he lived most of his life in El Centro and Imperial, California.

Jose loved mechanical work and owned a small business which he started in 1997. He was a hardworking man who spent his life providing for his wife and children. He married Sandra Torres on December 26, 1980, in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. Together, Jose and Sandra worked tirelessly to put their three children through college and Jose was immensely proud of their achievements. Jose had a wonderful knack for solving problems and was always there to help his family and friends. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; he loved spending time with friends and family, roasting peanuts, and playing with his two grandchildren, Carmen and Oscar.

Jose was extremely loving and proud of his three children: Sandra Torres, Manuel Torres and Rosario Torres Gonzalez. He is also survived by his wife and best friend, Sandra, and his siblings of Mexicali, as well as his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Jose touched are invited to the Hems Brothers Funeral Home, 1975 South 4th Street in El Centro, California from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 210 West 7th Street in Imperial. Jose will be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico, California following the funeral service.
