Showcase to feature variety of cheer teams

- BY KARINA LOPEZ Sports Writer

IMPERIAL — Venom Elite All Stars will present its second annual showcase on Saturday afternoon here. The showcase will begin at 1 p.m. and take place at the Imperial Valley College gymnasium located at 380 E. Aten Road, off Highway 111, here.

The event is a chance for Venom Elite All Stars and other local cheer teams to demonstrate their skills and share their talent and competition routines before their home crowd.

As most competitions take place in bigger cities outside of the Imperial Valley, this is one of the only times many of these teams will perform locally.

In addition to VEA groups, the showcase will exhibit the talents of squads from the Coachella Valley and Mexicali as well.

The event will also give local families and athletes interested in cheer an opportunity to learn more about the program.
