MICAELA “MICKEY” CHELL

Micaela “Mickey” Chell passed away peacefully at home, January 24, 2018, surrounded by her family. The last several years of her life were spent at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Carlsbad, CA.

Mickey was born in Westmorland, CA on December 2, 1931. She married Gilbert Chell on February 8, 1953. They had four children, Melani, Edward, Marla and Kalbert.

She worked as a bookkeeper throughout her life and retired from Meadows Union School District after 23 years of service. She devoted her life to the care of her husband and family. Gilbert passed away on October 9, 2001 at which time “Mickey” moved to Carlsbad, CA to be with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert S. Chell and numerous sisters.

Mickey is survived by her 4 children; 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Mickey was a long time parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Holtville and St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Carlsbad, CA. She was deeply committed to her faith and was a stanch patriot, and loved her country. Mickey will truly be missed but her memory will forever endure.

Rosary will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 1:30 p.m.; with mass at 2 p.m. with Reverend Brian F. Kelly officiating at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church; 6628 Santa Isabel St. Carlsbad, CA.
