PET OF THE WEEK

-

Hay Hay came into our care back in October of 2017 as a stray from Brawley Animal Control. When she came in she was with three of her siblings, but Hay Hay stood out from the rest of the litter. It was clear that she had some kind of disability. It was suggested that she may have a rare birth defect that was specific to cats and is similar to Down Syndrome. After a quick vet visit it was determined that she did not have Down Syndrome, but was born with a condition called hydrocephalus. Basically, she has a large amount of fluid built up in her head. The doctor said that there is no cure for it and only time would determine if she pulled through or not. Well, now that she is almost 6 months old, we feel it is safe to say that Hay Hay is going to live the life of a normal kitty. Her foster mom says that she is everything but an average kitty though. Hay Hay is fearless and always curious as to what everyone is doing, and she loves to discover new things. Her favorite toys are pieces of dog kibble and she loves to sleep in doll houses. They’re like her very own private kitty condo! She gets along very well with both cats and dogs and she loves kids. If you would like to set up a meet and greet with Hay Hay, please call or come by the shelter during our regular businesses hours. Hay Hay’s adoption fee is $50.
