Josie Godinez, 61, was born May 26, 1956 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was the 9th child of 12 siblings. Josie attended local schools and graduated from Brawley Union High School in 1975. She continued her education in college studying business administra­tion. Josie worked for several local businesses before establishi­ng her career with Clinicas de Salud Del Pueblo for 33 years. As the chief facility officer, she managed the developmen­t and grand opening of several clinics in the Imperial and Coachella Valley.

On May 27, 1977 she married the love of her life, Tony Godinez. God blessed them with two beautiful children, Tony Godinez Jr. and Amanda Godinez. Josie enjoyed spending time with her family most of all. She also enjoyed taking vacations, walking on the beach, having good conversati­ons, and watching football on weekends especially the Arizona Cardinals. People will remember Josie as being kind-hearted, hard working, dedicated and her ability to go above and beyond for others. Her joyful personalit­y and laugh will always be cherished. Josie cemented her legacy in the Imperial Valley through her countless profession­al relationsh­ips and her endless dedication to Clinicas de Salud del Pueblo.

Josie entered into rest on March 1, 2018. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and colleagues.

Josie is survived by her husband, Tony Godinez of Brawley; son, Tony Godinez Jr. of Imperial and daughter, Amanda Godinez of San Diego; brothers, sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley with Rosary being said at 7 p.m. Service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 9 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church in Brawley and will be officiated by Father Manuel Gutierrez. Burial will immediatel­y follow at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.
