Jesus Flores Romero was born in Chavinda, Michoacan Mexico on January 24, 1939. He left us to be in the arms of our Lord surrounded by his family on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the age of 79 years in Brawley, CA. Mr. Flores emigrated to the United States in 1964 after being part of the Bracero Program and worked as a farm laborer for 54 years. Upon his retirement he became a welder, creating rod-iron fences, doors, and gates throughout Brawley and surroundin­g areas until his death.

Jesus enjoyed working, cooking, joking around, visiting with family and friends, and watching his favorite soccer team on TV. He will be remembered as a hard-working, generous, loving, and kind-hearted man, not to mention impatient and stubborn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Flores and Maria de Jesus Romero; and brother Jose Flores of Mexico.

Jesus is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jacoba Guzman, Brawley, CA, daughters, Veronica (Pat) and Hortencia (Saul) of Portervill­e, CA; sons Jose (Maria) of Brawley, CA, and Jesus Jr. (Laura) of Hemet, CA; grandchild­ren, Christophe­r Aldaco, Carlos Flores, Eduardo Flores, Kaitlyn Diaz, Jacob Aldaco, Makena Flores, Jesus Flores III; brothers, Rafael and Juan of Portervill­e, CA, Roberto of Terra Bella, CA; sisters Maria Avila of San Jose, CA, Margarita Arteaga of Cuernavaca, Mexico, Guadalupe Herrera of Terra Bella, CA, Guillermin­a Hernandez of Chavinda, Mexico, Rosa Lopez of Madera, CA, and Sara Rodriguez of Terra Bella, CA.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Frye Chapel in Brawley, CA. Rosary 8 p.m. Mass will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 9 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church in Brawley, CA and will be officiated by Fr. Manuel Gutierrez. Burial will be held at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley following mass.
