Man shot to death at taco shop
A man was shot to death at a taco shop early Tuesday by unknown individuals in southern Mexicali.
La Crónica newspaper reported the incident occurred at 4 a.m. at Islas Borneo Street and Anáhuac Boulevard at Fraccionamiento Jardines del Lago subdivision.
The victim was identified by authorities as Bernardo Antonio Linares Corral, 44.
The police said Corral was found dead inside a 2009 Nissan Altima at the driver’s seat.
Special Investigations Coordinator David Lozano told the newspaper detectives found on scene 17 casings for AK47 rifles.
Police officers found inside the victim’s vehicle a .40-caliber Glock pistol and a bag with three loaded magazines.
The suspects arrived at the scene and shot the victim by the left side of the vehicle, according to preliminary investigations.
State Forensics Coordinator César González told the newspaper the victim had at least 15 bullet wounds.
