Mexicali’s Calipatria store robbed at gunpoint

An individual was arrested early Tuesday after a robbery was reported at a small store named Calipatria.

The Municipal Public Safety Department said the suspect was identified as Adán Emmanuel “Doe,” 34.

The incident was reported at 5:25 a.m. at the store located at Atenco Avenue at Fraccionamiento California neighborhood.

According to the police a woman told authorities the suspect arrived at the store and brandished a handgun.

The individual allegedly took cash and a pack of cigarettes.

Police agents found the suspect moments later in possession of an imitation pistol, the money and the cigarettes.

The suspect was apprehended and transported to the police headquarters.
