Spartans edged by Orange Glen

EL CENTRO — The Central Union High baseball team played host to Orange Glen in a non-league contest here on Tuesday afternoon and ultimately fell to the visiting Patriots, 2-1.

Eduardo Vasquez suffered the loss on the mound, throwing a solid six innings, giving up just one hit and two walks, while striking out two.

At the plate for Central, Anthony Loya, Jonathan Medina, Jaeden Castillo, A.J. Diaz and Angel Nava each had one hit.

The Spartans return to the field at 3 p.m. Monday, traveling to face Placer in the annual Lion’s Tournament.
