Relay for Life Imperial Valley College will host Relay for Life of Imperial Valley on April 14 and 15.
Doors open at 9 a.m. April 14. The opening ceremony will be at 10 a.m. with the survivor/caregiver walk at 10:30 a.m. The luminaria ceremony is at 9 p.m. Closing ceremony is at 9 a.m. April 15. Photography show John Dotta and Kevin Marty will present “Local Environment: A Photographic Journal” through April 25 at the Juanita Salazar Lowe Art Gallery at IVC.
The show will be open from 12:15-12:45 p.m. Mondays; 4:55-5:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; and 1-2:50 p.m. Wednesdays. Admission is free. Financial Aid Awareness Day Staff will be available to answer questions about the financial aid process and available sources of aid during Financial Aid Awareness Day, 12:30 to 2 p.m. April 11 at IVC, at the Quad and outside Building 2700.
There will be free pizza, drinks and prizes, and a drawing for a $200 bookstore gift card.
For more information, call the Financial Aid office, 760-355-6266. Career Education Expo The Career Education Expo will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 12 on the north side of the IVC campus, outside of the 2700 building.
The event is open to the public. Admission is free. Learn about careers, view modern equipment on display, discuss employment and career opportunities, and witness special skills demonstrations.
The IVC Orchestral String Ensemble led by Dr. Hope Davis also will perform at 10 a.m.
MUS 160, 162 and 260 Beginning and Intermediate Guitar, led by Brandilyn Davidson, will perform at 11 a.m.
The Chorus and Voice Concert led by Dr. Hope Davis will perform at 11 a.m. The Community Band led by Brandilyn Davidson will perform at noon. IVC Chorus Concert The Chorus class’ mid-semester concert, led by Dr. Hope Davis, will begin at 4:15 p.m. April 25 at the IVC cafeteria. Students will perform a variety of favorites. Admission is free. IVC Singers Concert Voice class students led by Dr. Hope Davis will perform a free concert at 11:50 a.m. April 30 at the IVC cafeteria. Students will perform selections of vocal soloes and ensembles.
