PMH opens children’s health center
BRAWLEY — The Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District opened the doors to its new Pioneers Children’s Health Center with a grand opening ceremony here Tuesday.
With invited dignitaries from the city and Imperial County, PMHD officials cut a special rainbow colored ribbon that represented all the chambers of commerce from the Valley and incidentally matched the rainbow included in the Children’s Health Center’s logo.
“It’s very exciting to be a part of this project. The clinic will have three providers all week, for either scheduled appointment or walk-ins,” said Lwbba G. Chait, a pediatrician at the Pioneers Children’s Health Center. “A lot of the kids would have to go to the emergency room for minor illness or injury, and now they can come to the Pioneers Children’s Health Center.”
Located at the corner of Sixth and Main streets here, the heart of downtown, the center will provide primary care visits, well-child checkups, vaccines, sick visits, minor injuries, newborn exams, school and sports physicals, and care for a variety of childhood ailments, including acne or skin rashes, common cold, coughs, sore throat, asthma and allergy-related symptoms.
“We’re pretty happy and proud of the fact that they’ve done such extensive improvements throughout the community,” said Brawley Mayor George Nava. “They’ve made improvements on their main campus, and of course we’re now in downtown Brawley, in historic downtown, and we’re excited to have them here.”
Mohammad I. Admani is the medical doctor at the new facility with Rosanna Pritting as the family nurse practitioner.
