Pedro Salcedo, 81, of El Centro passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018 of complicati­ons from Pneumonia at UCSD Medical Center in San Diego.

He was born on February 25, 1937 in Nayarit, Mexico to Pedro Salcedo Sr. and Feliciana Garcia. He moved to Mexicali in 1951 and met Armida Flores and were married on February 28, 1959 in Mexicali, Mexico. Pedro began working for Mr. and Mrs. Floyd M. York in 1962 at Valley Paint Center. After years of hard work and dedication, Pedro and Armida were able to purchase the business and it then became Imperial Valley Paint Center. Pedro was proud to have his wife and children work in the family business. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, gardening and cookouts.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pedro Salcedo; mother, Feliciana Garcia; sisters, Enedina Medina, Cruz Mayorquin and Francisca Garcia.

Pedro is survived by his wife, Armida Salcedo of El Centro; daughter, Betsy (Mark) Carlos of Imperial; sons, Pete Jr. (Diana) of Imperial, Claudio (Isabel) of El Centro, Steve (Jessica) of Imperial; 9 grandchild­ren, 5 great-grandchild­ren; sisters, Esperanza Gomez, Isabel Torres and Antonia Gutierrez; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Christ Community Church in El Centro. Service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Christ Community Church in El Centro and will be officiated by Pastor Walter Colace. Burial will immediatel­y follow at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.
