Man arrested for attempted murder by shooting BB gun
A 27-year-old Holtville tran- sient was arrested Tuesday morning for alleged attempted murder after reportedly firing a BB gun at a passenger on
a bus.
Lucio A. Saravia was taken into custody without incident at about 11 a.m. Tuesday near Circle K on Brawley Avenue by Brawley police officers and booked into county jail on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, willful discharge of a BB device and exhibiting a weapon other than a firearm, arrest records stated.
Saravia was held on a $500,000 bond for the four alleged offenses, arrest records stated.
At around 11:30 am Tuesday, the Brawley Police Department responded to the report of a subject with a gun on an Imperial Valley Transit bus in the area of the 100 block of K Street.
Officers arrived on scene and contact a male subject, later identified as Saravia, walking near the intersection of K Street and Brawley Avenue.
During the subsequent investigation, it was determined Saravia had allegedly attempted to fire an air-powered BB gun at a fellow passenger on the bus.
The details of the ongoing investigation are still pending, stated a BPD news release.
The incident is being investigated by the BPD Investigation Division.
