Amber Alert for missing 9-year-old

State authorities activated an Amber Alert after a 9-year-old boy was reported missing.

The Attorney General’s office said Isaú Alexander Sánchez García was reported missing Saturday evening, hours after the child left his home to help a vehicle dismantler.

The minor returned to his residence a few hours later to bring home food for his mother and siblings.

Family members have not seen the child since then, but were contacted by phone messaging.

The suspect is presumably with an individual identified as Luis Alvarado, 50, who drives a white Chevrolet S10 pickup with California plates 8V19277.

The Attorney General’s office said the minor has been helping Alvarado for several weeks dismantling vehicles and selling parts.

Although the minor was apparently close to the west port of entry, U.S. authorities had not registered the missing boy crossing the border.
