Mary Deen

85, El Centro

Mary Deen passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 surrounded by her family in El Centro.

Mary was born and raised in Calipatria. Her parents were pioneer farmers in the north end.

She graduated from Calipatria High School in 1950. Mary worked for the IID in the Calipatria office as a secretary for 18 years. After retirement she worked at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church as an office manager for 14 years donating her time to the church.

Mary loved people and loved to entertain. She enjoyed traveling and went to Europe numerous times.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Omer and Guadalupe Deen; brothers, Alvaro, Joe, and Emilio Deen, and sister, Eva Deen.

Mary is survived by her brother John (Esther) Deen of El Centro, Carmen (David) Hurtado of Calipatria, Celia Deen, of El Centro, Sara (Judge) Lehnhardt of Holtville, Rose Jensen of Sparks, NV. Genevieve (Harnek) Brar of Huntington Beach, CA. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 9 a.m. Mass will follow at St. Patrick’s Church in Calipatria. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.
