ICOE hires two department heads
EL CENTRO — The Imperial County Office of Education has hired two new managers who will lead various aspects of ICOE’s operations.
Jeff Sturdevant has been selected as ICOE’s new maintenance and operations supervisor. Sturdevant is a life-long Imperial
County resident and has more than 25 years of experience as a state-licensed contractor and business owner in the construction industry.
He has a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of project management and job tracking, building and construction codes and regulations, knowledge of the various trades, and employee management. Sturdevant will supervise ICOE maintenance workers and custodians on a day-today basis.
Juan Verdugo has been selected to fill the position of facilities coordinator. Verdugo has also been a long-time Imperial
County resident and has more than 30 years of experience as a city planner, building inspector, project manager, appraiser and director of economic and community development.
During these roles, Verdugo has gained knowledge and experience working on state and federally funded construction projects. He has extensive knowledge of project management — procurement, bidding, contractor management and regulatory reporting. He will work closely with Wendy Rangel, ICOE’s facilities manager, on project planning, management and reporting.
