The El Centro Sector Border Patrol Field Communications Branch will be hosting a three- week- long Citizens’ Academy in September at its El Centro Sector Headquarters, 211 W. Aten Road.
The academy will take place from 8 a. m. to 4 p. m. Sept. 15, 22 and 29.
The program will give citizens an inside look at what it is like to be a Border Patrol Agent.
The program is free to everyone and participants must be 18- yearsold or older.

On Wednesday morning, Calexico police officers arrested a suspected burglar who believed to have robbed a home of several electronic items (pictured). Officers came into contact with the suspect, who was riding a bicycle while carrying large bags in the downtown Calexico area. Officers discovered the suspect was in possession of reported stolen items and that he was on active probation for burglary. The suspect was arrested and booked into county jail, while the robbery victim was identified and contacted.
