AMELIA M. ARMENTA May 30, 1934 - Aug. 22, 2018

Amelia Armenta, 84, of El Centro passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018.

Amelia was a loving mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r. She was known to her family as gramama. She was the life of our family functions. She was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos. For many years she worked as a school crossing guard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicolas and Maria Martinez and sister, Lena Corona.

Amelia is survived by her sons, Arthur (Flor) Armenta, Albert (Liliana) Armenta and Andy (Patty) Armenta; daughters, Lupe (Tony) Romero, Lori (Steve) Campos; 12 grandchild­ren and 1 great- granddaugh­ter; brothers, Peter (Vicky) Martinez and Ray (Lupe) Martinez.

The family would like to thank Accent Care Hospice Personnel. A special heart felt thank you to her long term caregiver, Graciela.

Rosary will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Brawley. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. followed by graveside service at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.

MARIA G. LOPEZ Sept. 16, 1919 - Aug. 22, 2018

Maria Lopez, 98, of Brawley passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018.

She was born on September 16, 1919 in Phoenix, Arizona and later married Joaquin Lopez.

Maria is survived by her daughters, Jennie Ramirez of Brawley, Cuca Santos of Brawley and Teresa Hurtado of Niland; son, Frank Lopez of Pico Rivera; numerous grandchild­ren, greatgrand­children and great greatgrand­children.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 7:30 a.m. at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley. Mass will follow at 9 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church and will be officiated Father Ed Horning. Burial will immediatel­y follow at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.

ALLEN DARIAN LOPEZ Nov. 1, 1997 - Aug. 11, 2018

Allen Darian Lopez, of Calexico, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 in Calexico, California at the tender age of 20.

He was born November 1, 1997 in El Centro to Javier and Sandra (Rascon) Lopez. He attended Calexico High School, Vincent Memorial Catholic High School and graduated from Aurora High School. He was currently enrolled at Imperial Valley College and aspired to become a micro-biologist and wanted to transfer to U.C. Davis.

Darian was very imaginativ­e and loved to draw. He started buying sketch pads at a very young age so he could save his creative drawings and improve as an illustrato­r. His father Javier would take Darian to the movies almost weekly when he was younger and he grew to also love movies and had a film collection of the movies he enjoyed the most. Other things he enjoyed were video games, reading, music and swimming. He loved his pool when he was younger, spending hours in it at times while his brothers and father watched over him.

Darian was such a loving and caring person that some would affectiona­tely call him DarBear. He will be remembered as a bright, shining light, with above average intelligen­ce and a very unique sense of humor who loved his family and friends most of all.

Darian is survived by his father Javier Lopez of Calexico; his, brothers Damian and Diego Lopez of Calexico; his aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Sandra who passed away when he was only 5 years old.

Viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, September 4, 2018, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hems Mortuary in Calexico. A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 9 a.m. at the cemetery in Calexico.
