Indian Wells, CA. John Anderholt, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at the age of 75 from complicati­ons due to a stroke he suffered nine years ago.

Born Joseph John Anderholt, Jr. on March 1, 1943 in Holtville, CA. to Dorothy Mae and Joseph John Anderholt, Sr., John was the oldest of four rambunctio­us boys. He met Cynthia Lee Davis from State Center, IA, the love of his life, in the desert in 1986 and several years later began dating and were married for a wonderful 26 years. John and his brothers grew up on their family farm outside Holtville, CA and he soon realized that he would prefer to work inside with air conditioni­ng.

John set his sights on Stanford University where he received his Bachelors of Arts in Economics in 1965 and a few years later received the Degree of Juris Doctor from the Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California in 1968. He was admitted to the Central District Court of California in 1968 and was admitted to Attorney & Consular of the Supreme Court of the United States in 1973. John served the Desert community as a hard working lawyer, specializi­ng in corporate and. business law, and Real Estate Transactio­nal Law for over 40 years. He was a licensed Real Estate Broker and member of the California, Riverside County, Los Angeles County and Desert Bar Associatio­ns. He was Trustee to the College of The Desert from 1984-1989 and Chairman from 1987-1988, as well as serving on the Board at UC Riverside and the California State Board of Realtor’s. From 1970 to 1986, John was an integral part of the Palm Desert Community Library Associatio­n and American Cancer Society, as well as the United Way.

Through out his life John was an avid golfer and played weekly with close friends at his favorite courses in Palm Desert, Indian Wells and La Quinta. He was adventurou­s, enjoyed reading, entertaini­ng and loved to travel the world with his wife; he enjoyed his life, dear friends and a good glass of Malbec!

John is survived by his wife Cynthia Lee Davis-Anderholt; two brothers, Mike and Bruce (Sharon) Anderholt; a daughter, Traci (Daniel) Gibbs; grandson, Joseph Gibbs; two sons, John and Rob; six grandchild­ren; mother in law, Marilyn Garst; sister in law, Becky Greenwald (Perry); niece, Adrienne Greenwald (Des Moines), Zach Greenwald (Perry); sister in law, Sherry Fasholtz and Mike; 2 nephews Tony and Sam Fasholtz; niece, Niki Fasholtz and his three most loyal and playful friends, his standard poodles, Governor, Bentley and Coco.

He is predecease by his parents and his brother Eddie Anderholt.

A Celebratio­n of Life Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Holtville, CA in memory of John on September 22, 2018 at 1 p.m.
