Bank robber sought
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the El Centro Police Department are seeking the public’s help to identify the individual responsible for robbing an undisclosed amount of cash from Chase Bank in El Centro on Saturday afternoon.
The suspect was described as a light complexioned male Hispanic in his mid-20s, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, with a thin build, an FBI press release stated.
The suspect is alleged to have handed a bank teller a handwritten note demanding cash, the FBI reported. The amount of cash the alleged robber obtained was not disclosed.
No weapon was reportedly brandished or observed during the incident, which was reported at 2:20 p.m. at the branch located in the 2300 block of North Cottonwood Drive, the FBI reported.
The suspect was last seen exiting the branch office through its north doors and walking into the parking lot, the El Centro Police Department reported.
At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a blue or purple baseball cap with unidentified wording on the front panel, a maroon polo shirt with a tan collar and a tan stripe along the end of each sleeve, dark-colored pants, and black and white shoes.
