Bobbie Jones

85, El Centro

Dec. 2, 1932 - Aug. 25, 2018

Our mother Bobbie C. Jones was perfect, we were loved, listened to, and best of all special, in her eyes. She passed away on August 25, 2018 at the age of 85. She has given us so much that we are filled only with good memories.

Born Bobbie Lee Contant on December 2, 1932 in Reno, Nevada the only child of Robert Warren Conant and Edna Nevada Jensen. Graduated from Reno High School in 1950, attended University of Nevada Reno, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Soroity. She met and married Donald Paul Jones a fellow student and a talented member of the Wolf Pack football team. Mom did not like football, so he must have been something really special. Bobbie graduated with a degree in English, finishing her education with a masters degree in Early Childhood Education.

Bobbie began her teaching career in Nevada and moved to the Imperial Valley in 1969 where she taught at Washington and Martin Luther King Jr. schools. After forty years of service she retired at sixty-seven. Mother was an avid reader making her the family go to person for any trivia questions. Our father loved crossword puzzles, our mother lovingly helped him complete everyone. She loved acting, appearing in college and community theater productions. When she read to her daughters her voice was different for each character. The first time we heard a book read without multiple voices and a narrator, we realized her storytelling was magical. She could keep little girls secrets, help them pack for a runaway adventures, then snuggle down for a rope skip with a dream friend, Elsie. “Andy spandy sugary candy French almond rock...” (Elsie Piddock Skips In Her Sleep).

She was preceded in death by one infant son, Kevin Carr (K.C.) Jones and in 2003 by her husband Donald P. Jones.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kristin McClintock, husband Michael West and Karin Morgan, husband Andrew; four grandchildren, Aline McClintock (Erik Kliever), Megan Henderson, Marin Tuck (Aaron) and Art Morgan (Lauren) and five great-grandchildren, Claire Tuck, Bobbie Lee Kliever, Cooper Tuck, Hunter Morgan and Lucinda Henderson.

At her request there will be no services. Donations in her memory can be made to the Imperial Valley Humane Society or any animal rescue of your choice.

Love you Mom.
