Robert Hitson Bryant passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at home in El Centro, California.

Bob was born on May 29, 1944 in Snowflake Arizona, to Arizona and Pauline Bryant. He lived for a time in northern Idaho as a child, but most of his youth was happily spent in Snowflake and Queen Creek, Arizona.

He graduated from Chandler High School, and he was named All-Arizona Athlete his senior year. He then attended Brigham Young University, where he enjoyed playing on the BYU Baseball Team. Following his years at BYU he served a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Uruguay. Bob then served as an Army Ranger (Sergeant) in Vietnam, leading a Long-Range Reconnaiss­ance Patrol unit, in the 82nd Airborne.

Bob married Cynthia Ann Hoopes of Mesa, Arizona in 1970. They lived in Mesa where he was a constructi­on foreman. In 1978 he and Cindy moved to El Centro, California to work in agricultur­e in the Holtville area, where he farmed with other family members.

Bob was a lifelong faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; and served as a Bishop, a member of the Stake Presidency, and especially enjoyed working with the youth, and the Spanish speaking members in the Imperial Valley.

Bob is survived by his wife, Cindy Bryant of El Centro; daughters, Elise of Sacramento and Beth of El Centro; son, David of Woodinvill­e, WA; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth and grandchild­ren William, Frederick and Louisa. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Bryant of Mesa, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin-brother, William Bryant.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel at 1280 S. 8th Street, El Centro, CA. He will be interred on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Mesa Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona.

The family would like to thank the medical staff of UC Davis and UCSD, Dr. Singh, Dr. Ahmed, Heart & Hand, and Accent Hospice for their care; and the many kindnesses extended by friends and family.
