Tristan Smith, a 17-yearold-senior, is a returning Varsity football player who experienced the team making it all the way from the California Interscholastic Federation game to the state game during the 2017 season.

“This year is so different from last year because we lost the best players, and we were used to winning every game,” Smith said.

The football team has hours of football practice, hoping to get the team to its full potential and make it as far as possible.

“The fans doubted us a lot because they thought we would be one of the worst teams in the Valley,” Smith said. “We aren’t as good as last year, but we aren’t terrible either.”

The season is going fast for the seniors and they are trying to enjoy the last games.

“I’m going to miss playing under the Friday Night Lights with my teammates and friends,” Quintero said.

Jason Cordova, a 17-year-old senior, said this year’s football team has potential as long as it gives 100 percent and take things seriously.

“We expect to have a winning record by the end of the season,” Cordova said. “Hopefully we make the playoffs.”

Cordova said the team has made mental mistakes sometimes.

“As long as we all come together, we’ll be fine,” he said.
