She was born on January 1, 1939 in Brawley, CA to Julian B. and Maria R. Hernandez, Consuelo (aka Connie or Chelo) Hernandez Ferschweil­er, 79, of Santee CA, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018. Her passing was peaceful with family by her side.

She is survived by her four sons, Dan of Milwaukee OR, Tim (Lisa) of Norwalk CA, Jay (Laura) from Santee, CA, and Sam (Lorena) from San Diego CA; grandchild­ren, Brandon, J.D., Chelsea, Faith, Donald, Chelo, Noah, Evelyn and Anahi. greatgrand­children, Hayden, Felix, Bethany and Harper.

Besides being a loving mother and nana, she was a huge San Diego Padres fan; her favorite player was Tony Gwynn. Consuelo was proud to have found a 29-year career working for the Migrant Education Program for San Diego and Orange Counties. She loved tending to her garden, growing beautiful flowers, shopping, and cooking.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley from 6 to 9 p.m. Mass will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at St. Margaret Mary Church in Brawley at 10 a.m. and will be officiated by Andrew Kunamb. Burial will immediatel­y follow at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.
