County announces early drop-off options for voters

The Imperial County Registrar of Voters office is working with local cities to provide early drop-off locations for vote-by-mail voters to submit their ballots prior to the Nov. 6 General Election.

Locations and times for early ballot drop-off are as follows:

• Brawley City Council chambers and administra­tive offices, 383 Main St.; Oct. 22-25/Oct. 29-Nov. 1 — 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed noon to 1 p.m.

• Calexico City Hall, 608 Heber Ave.; Oct. 22-25/Oct. 29-Nov. 1 — 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Calipatria City Hall, 125 Park Ave.; Oct. 22-25/Oct. 29-Nov. 1 — 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed noon to 1 p.m.

• El Centro City Hall, 1275 Main St., Oct. 22- 25/Oct. 29-Nov. 1 — 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Holtville City Hall, 121 W. Fifth St.; Oct. 22-25/Oct. 29-Nov. 1 — 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed noon to 1 p.m.

• Imperial City Hall, 420 S. Imperial Ave.; Oct 22-25/Oct. 29-Nov. 1 — 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Salton Community Service District, 1209 Van Buren St., Suite 1, Salton City; Oct. 22-25/Oct. 29-Nov. 1 — 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., closed noon to 12:30 p.m.

In addition to early drop-off locations, vote-by-mail voters may also return ballots in person at the Imperial County Registrar of Voters’ office located at 940 W. Main St., Suite 206 in El Centro or at the Mobile Voting Unit on one of the designated days and times. Voters can view the Early Mobile Voting schedule by contacting the Registrar of Voters’ office or by visiting the website at www. co.imperial.ca.us/regvoters and clicking the “Early Voting Opportunit­ies” tab.

Vote-by-mail ballots may also be mailed by affixing the correct amount of first class postage and mailing via U.S. mail. Ballots must be post-marked on or before Nov. 6 and received within three days of the election to be considered timely.

Voters are encouraged to submit ballots at least seven to 10 days prior to Election Day to ensure those votes are included in the first election results on Election Day.
