BLM to host public meeting
The Bureau of Land Management’s California Desert Advisory Council will host a desert tour and meeting Dec. 14 and 15, respectively, in Ridgecrest.
The DAC tour of BLM-managed public lands in the Ridgecrest area will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 14.
The DAC meeting will take place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Clarion Inn Conference Room, 901 China Lake Blvd., Ridgecrest.
Final agendas for the field trip and the DAC business meeting will be posted on the BLM website at https:// go.usa.gov/xPFat
Those interested is participating in the tour are encouraged to meet at the BLM Ridgecrest field office, 300 S. Richmond Road, Ridgecrest. The public is invited to participate in the field tour, but must provide their own transportation and meals.
Written comments related the DAC meeting agenda may be filed in advance of the Dec. 15, public meeting and should be addressed to the Desert DAC, c/o Bureau of Land Management, External Affairs, 22835 Calle San Juan de Los Lagos, Moreno Valley, CA 92553.
Written comments from the public also are accepted at the time of the meeting and, if copies are provided to the recorder, will be incorporated into the minutes.
All DAC meetings are open to the public. While the meeting on Dec. 15 is tentatively scheduled to conclude at 5 p.m., it could end earlier should the council complete its presentations and discussions.
Advisory councils provide advice and recommendations for the BLM to consider on resource and land management issues within the BLM. The BLM’s 38 chartered advisory councils are located in the West and are sounding boards for BLM initiatives, regulatory proposals, and policy changes.
