ROSE ANN LE MERT Jan. 29, 1937 - July 4, 2019

Rose Ann passed peacefully after a brave battle with Multiple sclerosis.

She was born on January 29, 1937 in Brawley, CA and married Robert Don Le Mert on February 22, 1957 in Brawley, CA. She had an interestin­g career in the field of science as a laboratory research technician for the US Department of Agricultur­eSalinity Lab over 35 years processing plant, water and soil samples to extract pesticide data for internatio­nal scientists to draw their conclusion­s and make recommenda­tions.

Rose Ann loved her family, grandchild­ren and recently becoming a great grandmothe­r. She was never afraid to try anything and was at Roberts side throughout their marriage camping, hunting, fishing , hiking, riding motorcycle­s, traveling to weddings, graduation­s, family holidays and their retirement home in Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents Murray Ransom Hoffman and Opal Cantwell Hoffman and sister Maureen Sue Hoffman, all of Brawley.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years Robert Don Le Mert of Riverside, CA; daughters Kathleen Goodwin (LTC Ronald Goodwin, USAF, Ret) of Mount Pleasant, SC and Jeannette Green of Stevenson Ranch, CA; grandson Capt. Tyler Goodwin USAF, MD (Sara) of San Antonio, TX; granddaugh­ters Chrystin Green (John Miller PhD), and Nicole Green of Stevenson Ranch, CA and great-granddaugh­ter Ryleigh Goodwin of San Antonio, TX.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 9 a.m. with her daughter Jeannette Green officiatin­g at Frye Chapel in Brawley, CA. Burial will immediatel­y follow at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley, CA.

ROBERT “DAVID” ELLIS JR. Oct. 30, 1955 - June 13, 2019

Robert Ellis Jr., 63, of El Centro passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019.

He was born on October 30, 1955 in Vincennes, IN.

Robert is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Bobby of Imperial, Mindy of Holtville, Brian of San Diego and Shannon of Imperial; mother, Millie; sisters, Patty and Karen; brother, Micheal; sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws; 12 grandchild­ren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Celebratio­n of Life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Moose Lodge in Imperial.

BRIAN KEITH FOSTER Feb. 3, 1964 - June 27, 2019

Brian Keith Foster, 55 of Las Cruces, New Mexico passed away on June 27, 2019. Brian was born on February 3, 1964 in Tucson, Arizona. He was raised in Brawley and attended the local elementary schools; graduating from Brawley Union High School in 1982.

Growing up, Brian loved playing Little League Baseball and played high school baseball and football for the Brawley Wildcats. He was an active member of the Magnolia 4-H Club and president of Future Farmers of America, raising steers for the California Mid-Winter Fair.

Brian attended The University of Arizona in 1982. He was a member and president of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Agricultur­e.

After college, Brian lived in San Diego and worked in the beef packing industry for the Foster owned, Cuyamaca Meat Packing Company. This experience led him to creating and managing a meat distributi­ng company, Cowboy Beef. Eventually, Brian moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico where he owned and managed the Corralitos Ranch and organized a successful dude ranch for guests to enjoy the beautiful trails while learning the history of the ranch.

Brian enjoyed profession­al sports, particular­ly baseball. He liked reading biographie­s on famous athletes and sports stats. He was a talented writer and had a very unique writing style that was evident in his letters to friends and loved ones. He is well known for his sign- off signature, “BKF”.

Brian was a magnificen­t storytelle­r and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was quick-witted with a boisterous voice and a laugh that engaged anyone around him. Brian was fun, loving, and kind and was genuine about those he cared about. He never knew a stranger and his big personalit­y had the town of Las Cruces knowing him by name.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Gary Leon Foster. He is survived by his mother, Glenda Foster; sisters Stacy Koegel, (Jim) Cooper and Christian. Joanne Castro, (Manuel) Maxximus, Gigi and Bridgett.

A private graveside service will be held at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.
