SALINAS — Church Brothers Farms announced Monday it is introducing three ontrend products, Sweet Baby Broccoli, Tuscan Baby Romaine and Sandwich Ready Leaves, at the 2019 PMA Foodservice Expo in booth 100.

“Sweet Baby Broccoli is a new vegetable we are now growing for our foodservice customers with the Growers Express commodity farming program we acquired earlier this year,” said Kori Tuggle, vice president marketing/ product development.

Available in a 10-pound loose field pack, the sweet flavor and tender stalks makes it a trending item for menus.

“It is a great addition to our offerings for our foodservice customers who are looking to load as many fresh produce ingredients in one stop as possible,” Tuggle said.

Tuscan Baby Romaine is another on trend item the company is debuting at PMA Foodservice.

“This version of Romaine offers a creative, healthy serving vehicle; think boats and tacos,” Tuggle said. “The shorter leaves create multiple ways to use across menu applications.”

Sandwich Ready Leaves are a hybrid green leaf with Romaine and Iceberg properties; the leaves are triple washed and ready to use with 100 percent yield and zero waste.

“Our Sandwich Ready Leaves were developed to frame a burger bun or sandwich with just the right amount of green frill and sweet flavor,” Tuggle said.

The new vegetables will be on display as part of the Fresh Ideas Showcase, Friday and Saturday, at the Foodservice Conference.
