STERLING “BUD” GREAVES JR. June 9, 1938 - Aug. 8, 2019

Sterling “Bud” Greaves Jr., 81, of Brawley passed away on August 8, 2019 in Poway, CA from a blood cancer called MDS.

He was born in Ferriday, Louisiana on June 9, 1938 to Sterling and Polly Greaves. The family moved to McCall, Idaho when Bud was eight years old where he attended school and graduated high school in 1957.

He loved sports. While in high school he was a ski jumper and played basketball and football. After graduation he worked in the lumber industry before entering the Army where he was stationed in North Korea.

In 1964 he married Carol Lassey. In 1966, they moved to Brawley and Bud went to work at Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. In 1984, he went to work at Yosemite Waters until he retired in 2002. Bud loved the outdoors. Fishing and golfing were just two of his favorite hobbies. Bud was very devoted to his family.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Carol; daughters, Shelley (Steve) Ridge and Christi McClain; grandchild­ren, Allison and Austin Ridge and Holly and Carter McClain; brother, Richard (Nancy) Greaves of Idaho; sister, Elizabeth (John) Tullis of Texas numerous nieces and nephews.

Private Burial will be held at later time.

TONY CASTLEBERR­Y May 1, 1970 - Aug. 10, 2019

Tony Castleberr­y was taken peacefully on August 10, 2019 surrounded by loved ones.

Tony was born May 1, 1970 to Daniel and Retha Castleberr­y. He attended all local schools in Imperial and graduated in 1989. After high school he worked for Duggins Constructi­on, TWG General Contractor and 14 years at IID. He married the love of his life, MonaLisa Vasquez. In their 23 years of marriage they had two beautiful children Nathaniel and Samantha, whom he leaves behind to watch from above where he is now at peace and no longer suffering.

He is also survived by his sisters, Kathy (Danny) Severe, Brenda (Jason) Shafer and Linda (Roy) Falcon; in-laws, Ralph and Norma Vasquez, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves many special friends that he considered more family than friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Allen Castleberr­y; his parents, Dan and Retha and brother, Danny Castleberr­y.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Faith Assembly of God with a luncheon to follow at the Plaza De Cultura (IVExpo) both located in Imperial.

ERNESTO JIMENEZ 1930 - 2019

Ernesto Jimenez, 88, of Calexico passed away on July 30, 2019.

He leaves behind his wife, Rosa and his beloved children, Ernestina, Bryan, Ruben, Joel, Edward, Daylene, and Evelia.

In heaven, his sons, Raul and Roberto will embrace him.

Ernesto cherished his grandchild­ren Dr. Edward S. Jimenez, Dr. Beth Jimenez, Jacqueline Vetter and Ryan; along with his great-grandchild­ren Ricardo, Maya, Hallie, Caleigh, Ellie, and Orian.

He loved his family and his friends who made his life full and brought him many joyful memories.

In honor of his memory, Ernesto’s service will be held on September 6th at 1 p.m. at Mission San Diego Basilica de Alcala in San Diego.
