Arrests made for drug smuggling
A 20-year-old woman was arrested at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the west port of entry after more than 33 pounds of methamphetamine was allegedly found in the vehicle she was driving.
Luz Idalia Cruz, city of residence undisclosed, was referred by Customs and Border Protection to secondary inspection, where further inspection allegedly revealed more than 33 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in the vehicle’s gas tank, a federal court complaint stated.
Cruz was booked into county jail by Homeland Security Investigations personnel and held without bail, county Sheriff’s Office arrest records stated.
A 22-year-old woman was arrested at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the west port of entry after more than a pound of methamphetamine was allegedly found in her possession.
Tere Dennes Villegas, city of residence undisclosed, was referred by CBP to secondary inspection for pedestrians, where 1.4 pounds of methamphetamine was allegedly found in her possession, a federal court complaint stated.
Villegas was booked into county jail by HSI personnel and held without bail, county Sheriff’s Office arrest records stated.
A 45-year-old woman was arrested at 7:40 p.m. Friday at the west port of entry for allegedly smuggling a half pound of methamphetamine from Mexico into the United States.
Crystal Annette Emery, city of residence undisclosed, was referred by CBP to secondary inspection for pedestrians, where a package of methamphetamine was allegedly found in her possession, a federal court complaint stated.
Emery was booked into county jail by Homeland Security Investigations personnel and held without bail, county Sheriff’s Office arrest records stated.
