RUTH S. MENDOZA

July 4, 1924 - Feb. 13, 2020

Ruth S. Mendoza, 95, lost her battle with dementia on February 13, 2020. She passed peacefully in her home that she shared with her daughter and son- in- law, Martha and G regorio Iniguez in Brawley, C alifornia, as she always wanted.

Ruth S. Mendoza was born on July 4, 1924 in Florence, Arizona to P ablo and Carmen Saine. Ruth later moved to Calipatria, California and on June 24, 1951, she married her s oul m ate, F rancisco L. Mendoza, in El Centro, California. R uth was a Nurse Assistant, f or t he Imperial County Health Department, and after 18 years she retired in 1996. During her retirement she loved to s pend time with her family, hosting holiday dinners, weekend bar- b- ques, birthday parties, attending Sunday mass, and instilling her Christian values to entire family. R uth was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, m other but her greatest role was being a grandmother. his passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Carmen Saine; brother, Frank Saine; sisters, Antonia Carter and Mary Vasquez; daughter, Margret Castaneda; son, Paul (Saine) Woo and soul mate, Francisco L. Mendoza.

Ruth is survived by her daughters and sons- in- law, Carmen Magana of C alipatria, Irene Valdivia of B rawley, Linda (Ruben) Perez, of C orona, CA, Frances (Jose) Tarango of Y uma, AZ, Martha (Gregorio) Iniquez of B rawley, Teresa Mendoza o f Brawley, Ruth Magana, of Bagdad, AZ, Eva (Luis) Hernandez of Calipatria and Barbara ( Jesus) Ramirez of Bagdad, AZ; 19 grandchildren, 46 great- grandchildren and 16 g reat- great- grandchildren and counting; numerous of godchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, M arch 3, 2020 f rom 6 to 9 p .m. with Rosary being said at 7 p.m. at F rye Chapel in Brawley. Service w ill be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2 020 at 1 0 a.m. at S t. Margaret Mary Church in Brawley. Burial will immediately f ollow at R iverview Cemetery in Brawley.
