Serial robber indicted
A man suspected linked to several robberies has been indicted by a state judge.
The judge elected to keep Juan Fernando “N,” aka Memín, behind bars while detectives complete the investigation against him. They were given one month to do so.
Memín has been a target of the state Attorney General’s Office Unit of Robbery Investigations. He is accused of a violent robbery perpetrated at the Oxxo Misiones store registered on Feb. 14, the State Attorney General’s Office reported.
Authorities said the defendant has a long criminal history and has been booked in prison several times.
In addition, the suspect has been apparently related in several investigations for robbery and has been arrested several times by Mexicali Police.
The suspect is linked to five robberies of stores in the Independencia neighborhood, Downtown, Jardines del Lago, Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood and Jardines del Lago subdivision, all registered in 2020.
The suspect has also been detained on several occasions by the Mexicali Municipal Police for misdemeanors.
