Baseball season confirmed
The Mexican Pacific Baseball League, of which Aguilas de Mexicali Baseball Club is a member, has confirmed there will be a season this year.
The decision was made during a meeting held in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico by representatives of the league’s 10 teams.
The league based its decision on the employment needs of all those who participate in the season, from players, staff, drivers, coaches, food and drink vendors, and souvenir dealers.
These workers need means to fill their tables, the league said.
The organization added that games will be played by following health protocols that will be revised by public health authorities.
The season has been set to start by the second week of October.
“I thank team owners for their commitment given this complex scenario,” League President Omar Canizales said in a prepared statement. “We had set the goal to start our season by addressing all recommendations imposed by these times and that had been set by state and federal authorities.”
