Sergio Garcia, 70, of El Centro passed away on July 22, 2020.

He w as born on November 22, 1949 in Mexicali, B.C. Mexico. Sergio worked for El Centro Elementary School D istrict for 34 years as a school bus driver. H e began working for ECESD in 1976 and retired in 2010. Imperial Valley College Graduate 1992. Sergio enjoyed hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities. After retirement he enjoyed gardening in his home and became an avid wine enthusiast. He loved traveling i. e. Europe, Cross- Country ( U. S.), throughout Mexico, H awaii, Seattle, Washington D.C., New York, and various o ther U.S. cities. He enjoyed family r eunions with his children in Ensenada.

Sergio was preceded in death by his father, Heleodoro; mother, Amelia; son, Sergio Jr.; nephews, SFC Robert R. Boniface and Lorenzo Jr.

He is survived by his spouse, L ulu o f El Centro; daughters, Veronica and Maricela of B rawley; sons, Sergio (Kim) of Westmorlan­d and Ceasar of El Centro; siblings, Elvira (Jesus), Lorenzo Sr. (Nancy), Tony ( Rosa) of Brawley, O felia of Imperial, Frances (Proto) and Ruben (Elvira) of El Centro; grandchild­ren, Jessica, Alex, Manuel Jr., Francine, Stephanie, Carlos Jr., and Erik; great- grandsons, Javier and Ethan; numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, A ugust 18, 2020 a t 6 p.m. at F rye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley with Rosary being said at 7 p.m. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, A ugust 19, 2 020 at 1 0:30 a.m. at Riverview C emetery in Brawley.
