Check out Discord and connect
Associated Students members have found another way to remain in much better contact with each other throughout the pandemic through the Discord platform. Our university uses Zoom for virtual instruction, video conferencing and for extracurricular events. Now we are inviting all SDSU Imperial Valley students to check out some of the useful features Discord has as a social media platform.
I will host a live workshop via Zoom from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today to show students all the wonderful features of Discord.
Although, we offer a virtual service desk to our students on Zoom, we use Discord for everything else. Much like how Zoom allows someone to share their screen, voice and text-based messages, Discord allows us to do all of that without creating

This is the main reason A.S., we want our students why: students will easto know that our Discord ily be able to see if their server is a safe space and they are welcome to join any time.
We have enabled a two-factor authentication requirement for anyone who wishes to join, which means that all persons joining the platform will have their account verified via a text message sent to their phone of choice. This is to prevent anyone else from logging on to your account if a password ever becomes compromised.
To represent students to the best of my ability, we have innovated and formatted this Discord server specifically to help students become more successful. It will give students a sense of connection and friendship in a time when building close relationships may feel scarce. I would like to personally invite all San Diego State University Imperial Valley students to join.
