A taxi cab transporting two people to Calexico from Brawley was reported stolen at gunpoint Friday night, county scanner traffic stated.

The taxi picked up the two people from the Sonterra Apartments on South Eastern Avenue in Brawley about 9:25 p.m. and drove them to a residence in the 900 block of East Rivera Avenue in Calexico.

Once the taxi reached its destination, the occupants reportedly forced the driver to exit the taxi at gunpoint and drove off.

After the carjacking, the driver remained at the East Rivera residence. The taxi driver reported no injuries.

The incident was reported to 911 about 9:50 p.m., just after the two suspects fled in the vehicle.

One of the suspects had a semi-automatic pistol, according to the driver.

The taxi is white and has the #12 on it.
