Dismembere­d man found

Police offices with the State Security and Investigat­ion Guard found human remains in Colonia El Pápago neighborho­od Thursday afternoon.

According to an agency report, the discovery occurred minutes after 2 p.m. on the highway to Tijuana.

A caller reported the discovery of human remains in two black bags at a self-service store and the Yonke Nacional, behind Mexicali Public Utilities Commission facilities.

Mexicali police officers arrived at the scene and confirmed finding a dismembere­d corpse.

Security footage did not provide any clues to the crime, police said.

The state Coroner’s Office reported that the body was cut in five pieces.

The victim, who was a male between 19 and 24 years of age, was determined to have been killed by decapitati­on.
