Dismembered man found
Police offices with the State Security and Investigation Guard found human remains in Colonia El Pápago neighborhood Thursday afternoon.
According to an agency report, the discovery occurred minutes after 2 p.m. on the highway to Tijuana.
A caller reported the discovery of human remains in two black bags at a self-service store and the Yonke Nacional, behind Mexicali Public Utilities Commission facilities.
Mexicali police officers arrived at the scene and confirmed finding a dismembered corpse.
Security footage did not provide any clues to the crime, police said.
The state Coroner’s Office reported that the body was cut in five pieces.
The victim, who was a male between 19 and 24 years of age, was determined to have been killed by decapitation.
