Candidate sign reported vandalized

A 4-by-4 election sign belonging to a female Imperial City Council candidate was reported vandalized, county scanner traffic stated.

The sign was believed to have been damaged sometime between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday, Imperial County Sheriff’s Office activity logs stated.

The sign was on a property located in the area of Austin and Aten roads. The candidate notified ICSO of the incident Wednesday morning, and a deputy filed a crime report.
