Entries accepted for Anza-Borrego Desert Photo Contest
Submissions are being accepted through Dec. 7 for the 2021 Anza-Borrego Desert Photo Contest.
The contest is presented annually by the Anza-Borrego Foundation, in partnership with the Borrego Art Institute and the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
Contestants may submit up to 10 photos per person online at https://theabf.org/photocontest/. Photos may be from any year.
A panel of five judges review all submissions, selecting photos they determine are the best of the best. Those selected from the initial review will be asked to submit a printed photograph for a second round of judging. Winners will be displayed at the Borrego Art Institute beginning Feb. 6.
All online submissions will be eligible for the Online People’s Choice Award.
There are six competition categories: 1) plants of Anza-Borrego, 2) people enjoying the park, 3) cell phone photos, 4) animals of Anza-Borrego, 5) black-andwhite photography and 6) landscapes of Anza-Borrego.
Photos will be evaluated based on impact, originality, creativity, composition, focus, proper exposure and color. Entries must comply with contest rules, which may be found at https://theabf.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/2021PhotoContestRules.pdf.
First, second and third place in each category will receive a ribbon and a gift Anza-Borrego Foundation membership. There will also be honorable mention ribbons awarded in each category, and one entry from the entire competition will be selected as Best in Show.
