Hit and run incident reported

-

A hit-and-run incident was reported Tuesday night at Seeley Market on West Evan Hewes Highway, county scanner traffic stated.

A vehicle reportedly hit two women. It was immediately unclear whether the two women were on foot or in a vehicle at the time of the incident.

The incident was reported to 911 about 7:58 p.m., Imperial County Sheriff’s Office activity logs stated.

While medical aid was initially requested for both of the women, it was determined at the scene only one ambulance was needed.

It was unclear which of the women, who were 31 and 28 years old, was evaluated by the ambulance. However, she was not transported from the scene.

In the 911 call, it was reported the suspect vehicle was a black Monte Carlo that was last seen heading eastbound on Evan Hewes from the market.

About 8:09 p.m., a 911 call was made from a man who was leaving work from Plaster City.

The caller reported he saw a black vehicle on the side of the road off of Evan Hewes, about a mile east of Bennett Road.

The man also said the car was off to the side of the road with its doors open, and that no one was around.

About 8:11 p.m., police responded to the area found the car as described. Police determined the car belongs to someone in El Centro.

Police continued to search Evan Hewes for the suspect, who was reportedly last seen wearing a blue jacket, but he was not located.

Police took the two women to the vehicle found on Evan Hewes. They were then transported to Donut Avenue in El Centro.
