It is with great sadness that we announce our mom, nana and sister, Mary Cardona, passed away on December 29, 2020, at the age of 100 to be with our lord.

Mary was born in Miami, Az., on October 13, 1920 t o Enrique and Juanita de la Torre. She worked as a nurse’s aide until she married Vicente F. C ardona in 1946 and together they r aised six boys. Mary became a loving and devoted mother and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vicente F. C ardona her grandson, Michael Cardona, daughter in laws, Chacha Cardona and Pam Cardona.

She is survived by her six boys, Tony ( Kaylee) Cardona, Michael (Florence) C ardona, Tommy Cardona, Vincent (Rosie) Cardona, Danny Cardona and Dr. David (Genevieve) Cardona; 13 grandchild­ren, 25 g reat grandchild­ren, 5g reat great grandchild­ren, one sister, Jessie Rivera and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was a loving and devoted mother and grandmothe­r. She loved being silly with all her grandchild­ren. We will miss her so much. We would also like to thank her caregiver, I da Lugo, for taking great care of our mom and always b eing there for her.

Due to the corona virus a private service will be held for the family. A celebratio­n of M ary’s life will be held at a l ater date.

Thank you Mom and God Bless. of J ustice. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1 970 and was a decorated combat infantryma­n with the first infantry d ivision in Vietnam. Art was a member of the veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7420 in San Diego and the American Legion Post 60 in B rawley. While residing in Brawley he was a volunteer with the Brawley Fire Dept. He enjoyed being with his friends, brothers and sisters in l aw. His hobbies were r emodeling his home, gardening and though a self described Lousy Fisherman, he tried to c atch a few with his buddies. He was preceded in death by h is parents Donato Ramos and Maria Quevedo Ramos and by his brother Daniel Ramos. Art is survived by his dear wife Elsi, brother Ricardo Ramos (Lydia) of B rawley, and sister Connie Ramos of B rawley, sisters in law Olivia Ramos of Brawley, Luz, and Celia of M exicali and Yolanda Bonillas of Imperial. Grandchild­ren Isabela and Marcela Drew of Lake Forest. Numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends and extended family, also by his loving pets.

Visitation will be held on Friday, J anuary 29th from 6 to 9 p .m. at F rye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley. Mass will be held on Saturday, January 30th from 9 to 1 0 a.m. a t St. Patrick’s Church in Calipatria. Burial will immediatel­y f ollow at R iverview C emetery in Brawley.
