Joan Kinion- Duggins, 87, went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2021.

Joan was born to Roy and Inez Holland on October 27, 1933 in Brazil, Indiana. A t the age of 12 her family moved to southern California. Joan attended schools in Chino, where she met her future husband, D oyle Kinion. The two were married on December 2, 1950. They later moved to the Imperial Valley. T he family attended First Assembly of God Church in El Centro for several years. In 1969 they began attending First Assembly of God Church in Imperial, which is now named Faith Assembly. T here Joan taught Sunday School a nd was a Missionette leader for many years. In 1971 J oan went to w ork at B oatwright’s Bakery in El Centro. In 1974 she went to work as a preschool teacher at CUHS and in 1978 at IVC Preschool w here she retired in May of 1995. Joan earned her AA in Early Childhood Education from IVC on June 12, 1982.

She and Doyle enjoyed traveling together and visiting friends and relatives. They had 4 daughters and shared 39 y ears of marriage until Doyle’s passing in 1990.

Joan met Ray Duggins in 1994 and they w ere married in March of 1995.

They enjoyed traveling, volunteering at the church, hosting breakfasts and many themed dinners for church groups. After Ray’s passing in February of 2 013 Joan continued to volunteer a t the church as a door greeter, a VBS worker, and a prayer chain warrior. She also enjoyed hosting brunches for the Share & Care l adies’ group from F aith Assembly.

Joan enjoyed visiting and traveling with her daughters and their families. E very visit she took lots of pictures to c ompare how much taller her great grandchildren had gotten. She always h ad her bag packed and was ready to g o on any adventure. She loved sewing, scrapbooking, and working on crafts until macular degeneration limited her vision.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Doyle Kinion and Ray Duggins; her parents and her 3 brothers, Bob, Noble and Ray.

She is survived by her daughters, Roberta (Ken) Kusler of P ayson, AZ, Vicki (Ed) Ingram of Colorado Springs, CO, Loretta ( Todd) Graham of

Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and Juanita of the Imperial Valley; 7 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren, 4 s isters- in- law, numerous n ieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Friday, F ebruary 26th at 1 0 a.m. at E vergreen Cemetery. M asks, social distancing, and your own personal chairs are required.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made t o the Braille Institute o r the Humane Society in Joan’s name.
