Application period open for CMWF Heritage Foundation scholarships
EL CENTRO – Applications are being accepted for the California Mid-Winter Fair Heritage Foundation’s annual scholarship competition.
CMWF Heritage Foundation is offering scholarship to Imperial County residents, ages 17 to 25, who are continuing their education in technology school, trade school or a two-year college and are pursuing training in welding, agricultural mechanical, electrical, livestock, auctioneering, agricultural business or similar field.
Scholarship awards range from $250 to $500.
Applicants must be currently or previously enrolled in Future Farmers of America, 4-H, and independent or regional occupational program.
The application forms must be complete and include the applicants’ written explanation why they are interested in the scholarship.
Criteria for selection include scholastic performance (2.5 GPA minimum); scholastic achievements (other scholarships received, California Scholarship Federation membership, etc.); extracurricular, athletic and community activities; leadership; work experience related to agriculture, and written expression.
Scholarship monies will become available in May. Winning applicants are eligible to apply for a second year.
