Bobby Price passed away on January 6, 2021, shortly after celebratin­g his 80th birthday.

He w as born on December 7, 1940 in Lepanto, Arkansas t o Wesley and Pauline Price. While Bobby was very young, his family moved to California, eventually settling in the Imperial Valley. Bobby attended Imperial schools at e very g rade level and graduated with the Class of 1 958. At I mperial High School he played the trumpet in the band and “every sport that would take me.” He was the school’s first male cheerleade­r and could still perform the chants and cheers. He briefly attended Imperial Valley College.

Bobby was employed by American Linen Supply Company for 23 years before leaving the Imperial Valley in 1997 to work f or the California prison system. He retired in 2 009 and returned t o his favorite town, Imperial. Bobby enjoyed years spent teaching Sunday School and Royal Rangers. H e was a faithful member of Holtville First Assembly of God church. For many y ears he coached Pop Warner football and Little League baseball. He especially enjoyed watching all his grandchild­ren compete or perform on the Imperial High School football field.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Price of Arkansas.

Cherishing his memory are his wife of 3 5 years, Phyllis P rice of Imperial; sister, Betty Crow of Imperial; brother, Benny Price of Colorado; daughter, V icki Diaz o f Arizona; stepdaught­ers, Linsey Dale (Geoff) and Alison Brock (Ben) of Imperial; grandchild­ren, Trisha Rhodes, Austin and Ryan Dale, and Amelia and Elizabeth Brock; great- grandchild­ren, Layo and Sienna Barraza; extended family; and many cherished friends.

A short service will be held for family and close friends at E vergreen Cemetery on February 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Foss o fficiating. Masking and social distancing protocols will be followed.
