Ann Elizabeth Kelley Elmore, fondly known as Anabeth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.

Ann was born to the late Margaret and Howard Kelley in Brawley, CA, on January 30, 1931 and was raised in Brawley with her siblings Howard and Malcolm. Upon graduating from Brawley Union high school, Anabeth attended the University of Southern California, where she studied physical education and was a member of the Pi B eta Phi Sorority. While attending a USC football game in 1949, she noticed a young man from Brawley and promptly introduced herself to J ohn Jameson Elmore. On February 10, 1951, John and Anabeth were married and welcomed four children, Howard ( Cindy), Richard (Robin), Margaret (Hank Darnell), and Kelley (Bob Witt), e leven grandchild­ren, and eight great- grandchild­ren over their sixty- six years of marriage. They had a wonderful marriage filled with l ove, family, travel, and adventure and Anabeth’s life was devoted to her husband and her children. Some of her favorite adventures w ere skiing with her family in Sun Valley, I daho, taking day trips to J ulian, e xploring the Imperial Valley desert, and spending time with her family and friends at their ranch in Rexburg, Idaho. During her life, Anabeth dedicated her time to various organizati­ons in the community. She served as PTA president for Witter School and Barbara Worth Junior High, president of Del Rio Country Club ladies board, president of P.E.O. sisterhood chapter B.S., P.M.H. auxiliary life member, and the organizing president of Children’s H ome Society Auxiliary, now known as D.O.V.E.S of Imperial Valley. Anabeth was an active member of F irst Methodist church in Brawley and also had her pilot’s license. Anabeth is survived by all her children and their families and her brother Malcolm.

She is survived by her children, Howard ( Cindy), Richard (Robin), Margaret (Hank Darnell), and Kelley (Bob Witt); 11 grandchild­ren and 8 great- grandchild­ren.

A private burial and Celebratio­n of Life will be held on April 19, 2021 in Brawley.
