JAMES RAYMOND WOODWARD

Sept. 30, 1973 - Apr. 15, 2021

James Raymond Woodward, who also went my many names, “Jim”, “Jimmy” or “Woody”, age 47, of Boca Raton, FL passed away on April 15, 2021.

Jim was born in Chula Vista and grew up in Imperial. He graduated from Imperial High School in 1991 and went to Embry--Riddle Aeronautical University (Prescott Campus) earning a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. Jim trained in the Army ROTC program and loved being a member of the Gamma Iota Chapter of his fraternity, Theta Xi. Upon graduation, he was commissioned a 2LT and served with the Army’s prestigious 82nd Airborne Division. Injured on active duty, he received an honorable discharge as a 1LT.

Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and kids and had a passion for flying RC airplanes.

Jim was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Woodward, and grandparents Ray and Dorothy Holloman.

He is survived by his wife Olenka; children Vanessa and Connor; parents David and Barbara Woodward and Rich and Debbie Gleason; grandmother Beverly Woodward; brother David; sister Colene Gibson (Traynor), uncles, nieces, and nephews.

A military service will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 9 a.m. at South Florida National Cemetery.,
