NANCY LEE CARROLL Oct. 26, 1951 – Sept. 14, 2021
Nancy Lee Carroll passed i nto the arms o f her Lord and savior surrounded by h er f amily, including her sisters, a t home in Copperas Cove, Texas on S eptember 1 4, 2021.
Nancy was born on October 26, 1951 in Brawley, CA t o W.J. a nd Marion (Zinn) R osenbaum. She grew up in El Centro, CA along with h er b rother and four s isters w ith a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins on b oth the Zinn a nd Rosenbaum sides.
Nancy graduated from Central Union High in 1969 a nd h eld several jobs in El Centro before moving to Prescott, Arizona. Nancy married Allan Carroll on September 11, 1976 and had many adventures t ogether while living in the Imperial Valley and gold m ining in Alaska where she was the camp cook.
Nancy & Allan moved back to California where they l ived in Mariposa for 37 years also living in Prunedale part of the time. S he h eld several for 37 years also living in Prunedale part of the time. S he h eld several jobs while living in Mariposa d oing b ookkeeping and secretarial work, the longest being the office manager for M ountain Christian Center i n Oakhurst CA.
She was a l ong time CASA advocate in Mariposa, CA and was still in contact with s everal o f her CASA kids years after they w ere grown. H er caring nature led her to rescue older dogs to live out their remaining years in a loving home.
Nancy worked a nd owned several businesses with A llan including B3blues Hammond Organ Rentals and Auto T rim 101. She managed several rental p roperties they owned and helped Allans parents, Woody & M argaret Carroll with bookkeeping duties in t heir later years when computers became n ecessary. Nancy & Allan wanted to move to Texas to be near their son, Robert and his family m oving there in April of this year.
Nancy was preceded in death by h er g randparents, parents, b rother Leslie and in-laws Woody & Margaret.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Allan; son, Robert & M ary Carroll along with grandson, R obert; d aughter, Stepheni C ornelison, grandson, Jess F oster, granddaughter, Amber Obanion, a nd f ive great grandchildren; and Roger the dog, t he g ood son. Her sisters, Rilla ( Frank) Zaccone, Kittie ( Henry) Salisbury, I ris (Mark) Stoner, Dana ( Jack) Hettinger along with t heir families; and many cousins and friends.
Nancy will be remembered for her outgoing personality, her great sense of humor and h er quick wit; along with being a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt a nd friend.
